TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been an educator for more than 20 years, and have taught grades ranging from 4th through 8th grade. I have served as the chair of the math department and have been involved with campus leadership for many years. In addition to my years in the public school classroom, my wife and I home school our own children who are currently in 11th grade, 10th grade, 8th grade, and 6th grade. We also try to keep up with our rambunctious 18 month old toddler and 2 Australian Shepherds.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe learning should be fun! My classroom is often filled with silliness and laughter. From wearing funny hats to different ties each day to creating magical math experiences, my students never know what will be next to bring a smile to their face. I believe that students learn best in an environment they enjoy! My students work in an environment where they are encouraged to explore, create and try new things. In addition, I am passionate about finding ways to integrate math, science and literacy instruction.
