Give your students a chance to do some math while also letting their artistic side show! My students love showcasing their other talents while still meeting their math obligations. Your students will love it, too! This contains 12 problems for which the student will match the diagram of the preimage and image of a figure with the description of the translation that occurred. The translations are described in a mix of word, arrow (displacement), or vector formats. Then, they will find the correct

Rotations Cheat Sheet

This resource is a great way to help your students simplify what happens when figures are rotated on the coordinate plane. By using the color coded version, students can visually see there are 3 things that can happen during a rotation. Use this as a supplemental resource, review, or even as a base set of notes. My students really thought this was a helpful tool!

Practice describing translations of objects on a grid without needing the object's coordinates. Students must describe the movements needed to pick up all the objects from the map. The route has been given, and two keys are provided for the students to describe the movements. It can easily be made into a competition between students to find the most efficient way through the map by whiting out the numbers in the "Movement" column.

This 9-lesson unit contains lessons the focus on geometric transformations, mostly concentrating on rigid body motions. Later lessons in the unit then look at the connection between rigid motions and congruence and how these types of transformations can be used to prove important geometric properties. To access the lesson videos on YouTube, use your smartphone or tablet to scan the QR code at the top of each lesson.
