    This 12 day bundle includes highly interactive lessons covering various topics related to mental health disorders and abnormal psychology. Here's how each day is broken down and the topics included:

    Day 1: Intro to psychological disorders and historical approaches to mental health Students will learn the definitions of psychological disorders, mental illness and the different approaches and treatments available throughout history. Students will also watch an expose and take notes about what they see from a mental hospital in 1972 called Willowbrook.

    Day 2: Project: Create an Infographic about mental health facts This is a fantastic group project that will allow students to research important information around mental health and create an infographic to teach others.

    Day 3: Diagnosing psychological disorders and the DSM-5
    This lesson will allow students to research to understand the criteria for how disorders are broken down in the DSM and to find out more information about Major Depressive Disorder. Students will focus on the causes, the factors, and the treatment for depression. Students will also read a case study about postpartum depression and will answer questions based on what they read.

    Day 4: Case Studies on Psychiatric Disorders This lesson allows students to read different scenarios and apply their understanding of what psychiatric disorder that person is experiencing. Case study topics include: PTSD, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, specific phobia, acute stress disorder, bipolar, social phobia, major depression, panic disorder, and schizophrenia.  Students will also have a reflective question to answer at the end as well as a question that requires more research online about one of the psychiatric disorders described in the lesson!

    Day 5 and Day 6: The DSM and major depressive disorder This is a lesson that will allow students to research to understand the criteria for how disorders are broken down in the DSM and to find out more information about Major Depressive Disorder. Students will focus on the causes, the factors, and the treatment for depression. Students will also read a case study about postpartum depression and will answer questions based on what they read.

    Day 7: Bipolar and other mood disorders This is a fantastic lesson that will allow students to learn about mood disorders such as Bipolar. Students will first learn about the symptoms, types, and treatment of Bipolar, then students will read about the role Vincent Van Gogh's mental health played in his art. Following this activity, students will branch off and learn about a famous person who has a mood disorder and how it’s affected their life.

    Day 8: Anxiety and panic disorders This is a fantastic lesson that will help students to understand anxiety disorders and panic disorders. Students will learn about the characteristics of anxiety vs. anxiety disorders, social anxiety and what it presents like, causes of anxiety, preventing anxiety disorders, and phobias. There is also a questionnaire for students to answer that will help them to assess where they are at when it comes to social anxiety.

    Day 9: Schizophrenia and other personality disorders This is an engaging lesson that will allow students to learn about schizophrenia and other personality disorders in an interactive way. Students will research the causes, symptoms and treatment of schizophrenia and will hear a personal story that will help them learn more to understand schizophrenia in a compassionate way.  Finally students will learn about borderline personality disorder, schizoid personality disorder, dependent personality disorder, and antisocial personality disorder.

    Day 10: OCD, PTSD, dissociative disorders and somatic disorders This lesson will cover: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, dissociative disorders and somatic disorders. Each disorder discussed will include the causes, symptoms, treatment and other important information to understand.

    Day 11 and 12:  Research Project: Psychological Disorders According to the DSM-5 This is a research project that covers various psychological disorders according to the DSM-5. Students will choose one of the disorders and they will create a 3 slide presentation that covers the disorder, the symptoms, possible treatment options, and other facts related to the disorder. There is also a slide for students to record information from other presentations
