History Nerds Unite has been my rally call for the past two decades! My love of kids, history, and teaching with passion has created an unstoppable energy that I still bring to school each and every day. I've been teaching Social Studies in the classroom for sixteen years and was a Consulting Teacher (BTSA) for five years where I mentored and inspired teachers all across a district with over 1,500 teachers. Coming from a family of educators...my mom, my dad, and two grandparents, this is my calling!
I work hard to make every lesson a grand slam with a combination of high interest, collaboration, and creativity. I love history and my students know it! It doesn't take long to convince even the most history hating teenager that maybe history isn't so bad after all. In what seems like no time at all, my students are debating, sharing, critically thinking, and researching like pros! I recognize that I won the teacher lottery to be able to share my lesson with other like minded teachers, because I get it, a little support goes a long way and I want to support fellow history teachin' nerds! History Nerds Unite!
