What educators are saying

This is a great beginning of the year activity. I'm also learning about differentiating in my Master's class, and this is a great way to get information to get a good start.

    Description

With the Learner Profile as the centre of the IB PYP, this bundled pack helps to develop necessary awareness of what each child's unique Learner Profile looks like. By understanding the attributes of a learner, the children are better equipped to identify their strengths and their challenges, enabling reflection, self-assessment and goal-setting. All of this leads to greater ownership and accountability for their learning. This is student agency!

You will find a mixture of practical, hands-on resources that all work synergistically as they are integrated into your daily routine and ANY unit of inquiry. These resources provide tools that are useful for the IB PYP and their whole child approach to learning. Easy to use with collaborative groups, small guided groups and independently, they can be used in the classroom and through distance learning.

    Included:

    • Collaborative Research Learner Profile Posters
    • Create Your Own Learner Profile display bunting-printable & digital
    • Learner Profile for Literacy Task Cards - printable & digital
    • Learner Profile Scavenger Hunt-printable & digital
    • Learner Profile Flip Flap Fun! -printable assessment craft activity

These activities are fun and engaging, interactive and present opportunities for collaborative thinking that can be used to help students in grades 3-6, learn more about the IB PYP Learner Profile and how it pertains to them as learners. The kids are thus able to make a more complete connection between the Learner Profile and the IB Attitudes.

I have used these activitivities with my 3rd,4th & 5th graders at the beginning of the year, and as on-going reflection throughout the school year.

Each day we would focus on a few of the attitudes with related texts, and collaborative activities and use the flip flap book to reinforce their knowledge and understanding with a personal direction.

    • Enable implicit practice of ATL Skills
    • Glued into interactive notebooks
    • Used as a stand alone learning experiences that the children can refer to within their working binders
    • Referred to for student led conferences.
    • Getting to know the IB PYP as a back to school activity.
