Description

Get ready to build classroom community with this fun icebreaker team building activity. This will get your students up and moving during the back-to-school week. Students will love the chance to make their opinions known. You will love having a simple way to get students interacting and learning about each other.

This is a no-prep, no-hassle Powerpoint slide show that comes with 30 slides that give students a "this or that" choice. Similar to "Would Your Rather" questions, students will be forced to make a choice between two opposing viewpoints. They will move to the side of the room with the statement that best describes them. You could extend the fun by having students partner up and share why they made the choice they did, and even have a couple of students share out loud if you want. There is really no right or wrong way to use this slideshow. Let students have fun and get to know their classmates. Who knows, they may even find some commonalities that could lead to the start of a new friendship.

This slideshow also includes 5 editable slides to insert your own choice ideas. Could be used for programming with any type of statement. You could create a This or That game with these slides that tie into any area of the curriculum from reading, to math, to social studies. There is really no limit to how you could use these.

You could even extend learning by having students write an essay piece about one of their choices, defending their opinions with strong evidence to support their viewpoint.
