What educators are saying

Everybody loves Bill Nye and this is a great way to check in after watching the Pseudoscience video.
These were great questions to ask my students to make sure they were getting the point of the video.

Description

I think that this is one of the best (but most unknown) Bill Nye videos out there. I love using it to help introduce the Scientific Method. Usually I show this right after I have given an introductory lesson on the Scientific Method; however, sometimes I use it as a "hook" lesson. When I use it as a hook I have students answer question #16, once they have had a lesson on the scientific method.

Students fill in the blank on this video worksheet while watching Bill Nye the Science Guy. At the end of the video, students analyze the song lyrics in the show and write a summary. Song lyrics are included on the worksheet for students to sing along. Fill in the blank questions are in the order that students view the video, so it is easy to follow along. The same wording is used in the worksheet as in the video, to make students more successful in finding the answers.

Key Points emphasized on the worksheet:
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof
The need for science to have repeatable experiments
The purpose of science
