I have taught science for 11 years. I have taught 7th grade Math the past 3. Throughout those years I have taught the following subjects (many of them within the same year): Life Science, Physical Science, Earth Science, Molecular Biology, and Chemistry. I am GATE certified and have taught a Life Science GATE class in the past.
I teach with a variety of methods and incorporate different learning styles within my lessons. My lessons include inquiry, hands-on activities, cooperative learning, laboratory experiments, and direct instruction. Lesson plans are interactive, student centered, and include strategies to engage all learners. Students are taught to make interpretations, problem solve, and draw conclusions based on their own observations and thinking.

I hold a bachelor's degree in Biology. I am credentialed to teach Introductory Sciences, Earth Science, Biology, and Natural Sciences (which allows me to teach any science subject from grades 6-12). Besides the course work to receive my degree in Biology, I have taken additional science course work. These classes included Astronomy, Geology, Meteorology, Chemistry and Physics, which allowed me to receive my credential in Natural Sciences and Earth Science.
