Are you looking for a hands on activity on EVEN AND ODD NUMBERS for special education? This activity comes with 106 task cards that focus on even and odd numbers from 1-200. Student looks at the number and puts a clothes peg on whether the number is even or odd. This activity also comes with a key concepts task card that serves as a visual reminder of the rules to know how to identify if a number is even or odd. I also included task cards with visual prompts (a circle on the ones digit) and task cards without a visual prompt. This allows you to swap out the cards once you see that your students are getting proficient with the activity!
This activity is ideal for the Grade 2 Number Sense: Whole Numbers Unit, especially for students on modified programming or special education.
PREP
- Cut around each task card
- Laminate so it can be reused year after year!
- Store the cards in a ziploc bag or keyring
HOW TO USE
- Student looks at the number and puts a clothes peg on whether the number is even or odd
There are 2 progressive options!
- If students are beginners, begin with the task cards with a visual prompt! These task cards have a rectangle around the ones digit, so students remember to look at this number to help them know if its even or odd! They can also use the key concepts rule reminder!
- Once they have mastered this, you can swap out the task cards for the ones without the visual reminder!
