Description

No prep art lesson with meaningful content inspired by "Only One You." Celebrate individuality with "Only One You" as an introduction to an art lesson about pattern and color. Upload to your distance learning platform OR use for face-to-face learning OR a sub. Use the printables as a lesson itself or as a way to extend a larger art unit.

What's included:

  • Lesson Plan with outlined objectives, materials, resources, instructions, and reflection.
  • Pattern Practice Page (fish with patterns)- Students will identify patterns they see and add pattern with color.
  • Pattern Practice (fish without patterns) for differentiation. Students may draw and color their own patterns on the fish.
  • Oval printable for brainstorm sketching, early finishers, or a sub. Using the Pattern page as a reference, they will design their own Pattern Fish. This can be done on the printable, on a separate page, or if you are face to face, with clay, collage, or oil pastels.
  • Student Response- students respond to the story by drawing and writing about their favorite part.
  • Student Response- students respond to their completed artwork by identifying the patterns they used and identifying how theirs is different from their peers.
  • Pattern Idea Page for student reference. They can copy the patterns they see on this page onto their fish design.
