Self-Care for Staff Professional Development, Teacher Mental Health

Self-care is critical to preventing burn-out and improving teacher and staff mental, emotional, and physical well-being. However, sometimes our efforts at bringing self-care into our Professional Development schedule ends up missing the mark. Often well-meaning schools and administrations want to support their teachers and staff by teaching them about self-care and its importance. The problem is, many staff already know why self-care is important, they just don’t have time to make it happen.

That’s why this program was designed. Instead of having staff listen to someone teach about self-care, we want to give the gift of practicing self-care. This program contains ten different self-care stations that you can set up to allow your staff to experience the benefits of taking time for themselves.

This program is highly adaptable. Set up the entire ten stations and allow your staff to experience an entire day of pampering. Or choose a smaller number of stations to fit a half day or shorter PD. You can even choose to separate the activities and use one station at each of your staff meetings throughout the year.
