Viking invaders and settlers! Planning and activity lesson bundle

This bundle contains planning and worksheets/activities for 6 different lessons on Viking invaders and settlers. It is linked to the UK National Curriculum history unit 6c (invaders and settlers) but can be easily adapted for any curriculum. Pages could also be used for individual lessons on Viking history.

Each lesson plan is laid out in order with a focus/objective, introduction, main teaching/input, activity and plenary. Please see the preview for details on how the plans are laid out.

The lessons in the pdf file are:
1. An introduction lesson, mind-mapping and questioning;
2. Invaders and settlers
3 How did Viking travel?
4. Raiding (uses an online interactive game as the focus)
5 Settlers
6. Alfred the Great and Danelaw

At the end of the unit are two options for assessment; a multiple choice test and an open-ended assessment where children imagine they are a Viking.
