What educators are saying

This is a fantastic resource! I've used the Vocabulary Notes Pages and Graphic Organizers with my 5th-graders in small groups as well as with my more advanced students. The activities are beautifully created and all my students really enjoyed being challenged too!
These are great worksheets to help with vocabulary. However I do wish I could edit them to better fit my needs. Overall, very useful.

Description

You need students to organize their vocabulary notes in a way that helps them LEARN their words and retain their meanings...but how? Try these vocabulary notes graphic organizers! They are the ultimate tool for efficiency and flexibility when it comes to vocabulary notetaking for students.

RESOURCE CONTENTS:

Inside this resource, you'll find SIX different notes and organizer templates. Each template is available both in print and digital (Google Slides™ format).

  1. 4 square: I created this template when I wanted my students to maximize the quality and quantity of vocabulary notes per page. Quickly, I fell in love with the four square organization, and I've used it for daily vocabulary ever since! (This is actually the exact same organizer included in my word-a-day units, so if you own those, you already have this one.)
  2. Single square: I included a single version of the four square page for digital use! Saving paper is not an issue when taking notes digitally, and this way, students will be able to see what they are typing on small screens easier!
  3. What's in a word? Students can really think about their words from different standards angles with this organizer. They'll be prompted to think about connotations, related words, and more! This page is visually designed to look like a page in a notebook.
  4. Digital vocabulary: This vocabulary graphic organizer is truly designed for a streamlined digital use. Students can just duplicate the Slide to add a new word. Great for one-to-one and remote classrooms!
  5. Creative vocabulary: If you want your students to think outside the box, this vocabulary graphic organizer will push their thinking. How well do they really know their words?
  6. Vocabulary practice: Sometimes, you may just want to have students practice their words with prompts or choice boards you design on the spot! This open-ended vocabulary notes page is ideal for students to record responses as they complete learning station activities, bell work, gallery walks, and more.

Whether you're using a word list you've created or one you've purchased with a curriculum, these vocabulary graphic organized and notes pages will help students stay organized! They work well with Tier 2 vocabulary and words pulled straight from literature.

This resource is recommended for middle and high school students, although it could be used with younger students if scaffolding and modeling are provided.
