I have been teaching for ten years at the high school level. In those seven years, I have taught 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, including AP Language, and have taught a wide range of students, from learning disabled to gifted.
If you interview my students, they will most likely say that I am a "tough" teacher who expects them to work hard and who has high expectations. With that being said, I also strive to make my lessons modern and engaging. I incorporate student collaboration and technology into my lessons whenever applicable. I am also in favor of performance assessments over multiple-choice tests and love to have my students complete unique projects to assess their progress.
In college, I was lucky enough to have two of my short stories and one of my poems professionally published.
In 2011, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from FGCU with a double major in English and Psychology, along with a minor in Creative Writing. In 2013, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from USF with a MAT degree in Secondary English Education (6-12).
I have two horses and have been horse-back riding since I was ten years old. My other passions included creative writing, sight seeing, and reading (of course).
