Dedicated to making high quality special education resources for teachers! My goal is to make life easier for teachers! I started my special education teaching career at Iowa City High School. I was a 9th-12th grade teacher for students with intellectual disabilities where I taught life skills, modified math and modified social studies. I then moved to Missouri and taught 1st grade students with learning and intellectual disabilities math, reading, writing and social skills. Now during this season of life, I am a stay at home mom of three boys.

Student centered, hands-on and engaging activities!

In the spring of 2010 I was recognized on the Oprah Show and ABC World News for being a part of the first ever inclusive cheerleading team incorporating students with and without disabilities (The Sparkles). In the fall of 2013 I started the first inclusive cheerleading team at a D1 level. The following year people began to recognize the difference this program made on not only the community, but throughout the country. There are now over 180 cheerleading and dance teams including students with disabilities. I was awarded the Iowa Outstanding Individual Volunteer Award by Governor Branstad, the UNI Diversity Matters Award, the Cedar Valley Adult Citizen of Character Award and Cheerleader of the Month by American Cheerleader Magazine. Throughout my involvements and volunteer work, I have developed a passion for working with students with disabilities.----------------- Governor Branstad- Iowa Outstanding Individual Volunteer Award-Summer 2014.
