TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught art history at the university and secondary school levels, and have home-schooled 3 children from kindergarten up. I am passionate about art history and love sharing the past with my students! I want to make art history accessible and rewarding to students at every level.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My goals include helping students become: -Better writers: Clear, effective writing is a cornerstone of learning in the humanities. -Better critical thinkers: I want students to learn HOW to look at art, what questions to ask, and how to analyze the visually rich world around them. It is more important than ever before for people to be able to decipher visual information!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

As a Ph.D. student I focused on integrating writing skills into art history and other humanities curricula. All of my materials are aligned to the Common Core and can be utilized to supplement courses in writing, history, studio art, and other humanities / social studies subjects.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

B.A., M.A, and Ph.D. in Art History
