I have been joyfully teaching Kindergarten through Grade 9 music and band for the last four years. I also have taught Grade 3 and 6 core, as well as some Junior High Social and Language Arts! I love my students, and I love creating fun and interesting new ways for them to learn!
In my music classes, I believe in a mix of experiences. This means that my students receive time for unstructured musical play, creation of music, teacher-led songs and games, student-led songs and games, instruments, dance, singing, composition...the list goes on and on. In my core classes, I love to create challenging projects for students to get involved in. I base my philosophy partially on the writings of John Dewey.
