What's the Big Idea? - The Big Idea is to engage students in fun, relevant, and inclusive learning. If we do this, I believe half the battle is won. We teachers are so underresourced and busy that we spend a lot of time thinking about great, meaningful lessons, but don't have the time or skills to make them 'professional'. Why make another teacher reinvent the wheel, when you can pass it on and let them shape their own wheel? - Who is big idea? - I am: Husband. Father. Teacher. In that order. I love teaching and I love doing things well. I want to share with other teachers so we can all lighten the load of planning and preparation and get back to why we started teaching - building relationships with the students. - After spending much of my teaching in grade 4-7, I recently have become a specialist teacher from kindergarten through to grade 7. This, along with having a two children of my own has certainly increased my desire into creating learning resources for that age.
