This is my 14th year at the high school level. I have taught in younger levels as well, but high school is where my passion lies. My focus has been in the American Sign Language classroom, but educating young minds is for every teacher! I also have experience in teaching leadership. I was the Student Council sponsor for 5 years. Not only did I begin the program at the school, but I taught a leadership class along with it.
The classroom culture is the most important part of the teaching career. It should be a place where relationships come first, and the learning will be a natural product of those relationships.
Teacher of the Year 2016- 2017
Double Major in Deaf Education and History Certified Teacher EC - 4 Certified Deaf Education EC - 12 Certified Teacher in ASL Graduated Cum Laude from SFASU in 2009.
I have been teaching for 14 years, and much of what I have learned has come from my parents who were both in education. I grew up in the Texas Public Education system, so I know what it is to be a part of everything that comes with that.
