I have been teaching for a total of 12 years now (in an urban district) and have been my absolute happiest in 5th grade these last 9 years. In the last 5 years, I have been teaching in a gifted cluster classroom (mainstream and gifted students) and so I have been working hard on differentiation and extension lessons and activities. But I have also taught in an English Language Immersion class, so I have experience with using language development strategies.
My motto is...hands-on and product-based as much as possible! I enjoy building a rapport with my students and holding them up to high expectations no matter what situation they are in. I use oodles of technology and real-life learning to get my students to invest their time and energy. We are a community of learners who use lots of Kagan and team-based activities.
