TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a teacher for 10 years. I love my job. I love using technology to help engage my students. I design many lessons to use many different technologies. Trying something new and putting music to my lessons helps my students gain knowledge. I find that students can master the concepts that we have to teach for social studies in Virginia if we put music to the content! I am now an ITRT in Virginia. I am loving being able to create new materials on a daily basis. Change is good!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a very hands on teacher. I do love the whole brain teaching and I try to keep my students actively engaged. I also use a lot of music to teach content. The students love using technology and we all learn from one another!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My students returning to visit me is all the honors or awards that I need! :) Seeing them become successful is something that brings me much happiness. The Northern Virginia Daily ( the local paper) did recognize me as teacher of the Year in 2012. I also received an the "Rising Tide" award in Fauquier County 2015.
