I was born to teach and absolutely love working in the field of education! During my over 20 years of experience, I've served in numerous capacities. I specialized in mathematics education and have spent the majority of my career serving as a math instructor and math specialist.

As a secondary teacher of all subjects, math was rarely a student favorite. However, I believe all students can become mathematicians and intentional instruction is the key to student success. Students learn best when lessons are hands-on, meaningful, and allow for multiple entry points. Mathematical understanding is fragile when students are rushed to the abstract phase. Depth of understanding takes time and moves students through a progression of concrete, representation, and abstract understanding. Successful mathematicians are fluent at all levels and can explain their processes and understanding.
