HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Dr. McCullough has received over 50 writing awards, and his “Plays of America from American Folklore for Young Actors” is one of a select group of classics named to Glencoe McGraw-Hill’s Recommended Reading List for students, a booklist that includes classics such as A Separate Peace, Great Expectations, Lord of the Flies, To Kill a Mockingbird, Our Town, A Midsummer Night's Dream … his landmark volume “Anyone Can Produce Plays with Kids: The Absolute Basics of Staging Your Own At-Home, In-School, and 'Round-the-Neighborhood Plays” has become a educational theatre classic.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Dr. McCullough holds a Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from Univ. of Pittsburgh and served 4 years as Administrative Director of the Humanities Theatre Group at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI), an educational youth theatre program where he created and funded numerous children’s educational programs and organized workshops for teachers implementing theatre programs in their regular curriculum.
