TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught 3rd grade in Georgia for 15 years, all of which have been collaborative classrooms! When I was in college, I really struggled trying to decide if I wanted to get my degree in early childhood education or special education. Ultimately, I chose early childhood due to paperwork (joke's on me!), but teaching collab allows me the best of both worlds! I LOVE teaching! My true love is curriculum development and planning! I love to create fun activities for my students and challenging assessments. I set the bar HIGH in my classroom, but my students always rise to the occasion!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like a little bit of everything! I do a lot of small group, formative assessments, reorganizing, and more small groups! I love cooperative learning activities, but I also love a good whole group discussion too! I like it all! Balancing all different strategies and styles is part of what makes my classroom successful!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Was chosen and participated in the National Writing Project in 2007.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Undergraduate Degree from University of West Georgia in Early Childhood Education in 2007. Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education with Specialty in Reading and Mathematics from Walden University in 2009. Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University in July 2012. Received my Gifted Endorsement in 2016.
