TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, school counselor, and teacher. I have 13 years of experience in the educational setting working with children ages 3-12 and 20+ years of experience in ministry working with children, youth, and adults.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I utilize interventions that are trauma-informed, solution-focused, strengths-based, and/or approached through play therapy.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In the 2022-2023 school year, I was a Wichita Public Schools Distinguished Classroom Teacher Award nominee.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and then went back to school twenty years later to get a Master of Science in Counseling from Fort Hays State University. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Kansas and work in private therapy part-time.
