I am currently enjoying my 14th year of teaching. I taught 6th grade math and 5th grade reading before accepting a science position. I haven't looked back since! This is my 12th year to teach 5th grade science and social studies, and I have loved every minute of it! I also love integrating my language arts and reading background into my science lessons.
I truly believe I am my best when I am having fun with my kids. Why would I want to come to work and be miserable? I strive to make my classroom fun, active, nurturing, student driven, and engaging. I cannot teach my students though without first building relationships with them. If, at the end of 180 days of school, my students know they are valued and loved in this world, then I have done my job.
