I have over 30 years of experience in the public school classroom. I have taught grades K-8 in some capacity. My first 19 years of teaching were spent in the K-5 setting. I chose to transfer to a middle school and have loved the last 11 years of teaching ELA, Ancient Civilizations, AVID, ELD, and Reading Fundamentals. My products will represent my overall experience with the various classrooms and subjects I have taught.

Over 30 years of teaching have allowed me to change my teaching style. As much as I rely on direct instruction, I also appreciate the need to have students learn by discovery. If you walked into my classroom, you could see me talking to a whole group, students working in their table groups, students spread out into the hallway and outdoor space to work on assignments, me working one-on-one with a student, or students working independently.
