Elizabeth Portree

I bring over 12 years of experience in teaching to my Teachers Pay Teachers store. During my time in education, I taught primarily in middle school and high school settings, working in a variety of states and environments. I am proud to have helped countless students achieve academic success, and I am committed to continuing to make a positive impact in the lives of learners. In addition to my time in the classroom, I have also served as an instructional leader and coach. This experience has provided me with a deep understanding of what it takes to create effective learning environments and support educators in their professional growth. My teaching style is centered on inquiry and cooperation, with a strong emphasis on authentic engagement. I believe that students learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process and have the opportunity to explore topics that are meaningful to them. In my classroom, I used a variety of inquiry-based teaching strategies to encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. I design lessons and activities that allow students to ask questions, explore ideas, and draw their own conclusions through hands-on experiences. Cooperation is also an important aspect of my teaching philosophy. I create a collaborative learning environment where students work together to solve problems, share ideas, and build their skills through peer support and feedback. Finally, I place a strong emphasis on authentic engagement, which means connecting learning to real-world issues and experiences. I believe that when students see the relevance and practical applications of what they are learning, they are more motivated to learn and take ownership of their education.
