** I have been a Bilingual Kindergarten teacher for 19 incredibly wonderful years. Before that, while I was studying to be a teacher, I had the privilege to work as an assistant in grades PK - 6th, learning so much from highly talented teachers and amazing students. ** Throughout the years, I have been PK/K team leader, teacher mentor for new bilingual teachers within my school and in the school district, member of our school’s Restart Program to help teachers with struggling students and many other roles that we all, as teachers, take on through the years. ** When I began teaching we didn’t have many materials in Spanish so I made my own guided reading books, my own poems, my own almost everything. Now I am taking this opportunity to share all of these resources I made, and continue to make, with all of you. ** I hope they are helpful for you and your students! **
Creating a nurturing, safe, engaging learning environment for my students has always been a priority for me. Making learning hands-on and differentiating my lessons for individual needs and learning styles is also a must in my classroom.
