Teaching has been a passion of mine from the very beginning. I am blessed to be in my 7th year of teaching. My career has been anything but ordinary and I wouldn't have it any other way. I began my teaching career in a special program looping with an amazing group of advanced students in a Title I school for grades 1, 2, and 3. I am now in my fourth year as a gifted resource teacher in my county.
My belief is that all students CAN learn. Students need to be given the opportunity to find their strengths and build on them. Hands-on learning is critical as students learn best by doing. I love to see students amazed and excited about their accomplishments.
Yet to be added
I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees at James Madison University. Currently I hold a Masters in the Art of Education with a double minor in elementary education and history. During my first years of teaching, I pursued and obtained an endorsement in gifted education.
While teaching is certainly my passion, I also love just living life. In 2012 I married the man of my dreams and we settled in our hometown with what will be our kids for awhile, our two cats. In my free time I enjoy playing sports, spending time with friends and family, and am attempting to take up hobbies such as sewing.
