TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught Kindergarten and First Grades for 22 years. I have been a presenter for BER Educational Seminars at their National Kindergarten Teacher's Conference in Anaheim, CA. I have been a Beginning Teacher Support Provider and a Grade Level Leader. In addition, I have contributed in many areas to curriculum development throughout my district.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Common Core- with it's emphasis on digging deeper and the mastery of skills important at each grade level- comes so naturally to me. I have always felt that to effectively teach young children you need to decide what is important and do a little of that every day!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelors in Liberal Arts from Pacific Christian College. I received my Teaching Credential from Chapman University and hold a CLAD Credential in the State of California. I have been extensively trained in Balanced Literacy and Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) and Common Core.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have been married to my husband, a Kindergarten Teacher, and we will celebrate our 23rd anniversary in December. Together, we live in Southern California with 11 of our 12 children, ages 23 to 1. Eight of our children are biological, 4 have been adopted out of the foster care system. We are busy with the blessings that God has given us and are excited for all that the future holds.
