TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught German 1-4 for the past 16 years. I have also taught AP German for the past 7 years. I teach in suburban St. Louis county, in Missouri.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to do as much as I can to try to facilitate foreign lanugage acquisition to occur naturally. I don't like to use the things that come with the book as much as I like to create my own materials that are a little more visually appealing and memorable to the students.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was awarded teacher of the year at the high school where I work in 2011. I have also been awarded a certificate for teacher having a desk most likely to eat a student by the speech and debate club. I'm sure that I've gotten other destinctions over the years, but it is more memorable when my students win awards for their accomplishments in German.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have my master's +60 in education with empahsis in German. I have taken classes all over the place and attend a good deal of professional development activities during each school year. I am always eager to learn the newest things trending in my profession.
