My teaching philosophy is centered around empowering students to find their voice and take ownership of their educational journey. At the introductory levels, I use a hands-on, interactive, and project-based learning approach to theater instruction. I integrate vocabulary and theater history instruction into content-based instruction, making the less interactive aspects of studying theater more fun! At the more advanced levels, I give my students choice and a voice--I see myself as more of a guide who gives them the tools they need, then I get out of the way to let them discover.
