TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught for 33 1/2 years, teaching 6th grade for all but one year in K and 5th grade. I retired in 2006. I earned my BA in early secondary social studies education at Binghamton University. I worked from 2006-2012 as an adjunct professor at SUNY Cortland supervising student teachers in the history department.

In 1988, I was awarded the Elementary Social Studies Classroom Teacher of the Year Award from the New York State Council for the Social Studies. Additionally, in 1988, I was also awarded the Outstanding Elementary Social Studies Teacher of the Year Award by the National Council for the Social Studies. I was selected as Outstanding Alumni by SUNY Oneonta in 1988 and Outstanding Alumni ,MST Program,Binghamton University,1980.
