TEACHING EXPERIENCE

18 years of teaching awesome fifth graders; "Sweet 16" Finalist for Alabama's Teacher of the Year in 2015-2016

MY TEACHING STYLE

My favorite compliment to my teaching style was someone who said I was "fearless" in the classroom. Fearless---I love that! Because when God calls you to something, He doesn’t call you to meekly serve or to slightly work toward the goal that lies before you. He equips us to be brave, to be fearless. Ultimately, that is a reward of teaching. To see your bravery and fearlessness culminate in a child understanding something that seemed impossible.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

"Sweet 16" Finalist for Alabama Teacher of the Year; County Teacher of the Year; Alabama State Senator requested to visit my classroom; taught one summer in Pavoorchatram, India; coordinated school sponsorships for students in Honduras

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelors from Union University, Masters from University of Alabama, Administration degree from Auburn University

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I love teaching, traveling, missions, and math! Cannot wait for my next adventure! I wish the show The Amazing Race would do a teacher version; I'd so apply for that! ======================================================== Blog: grade5greatness.blogspot.com ========================================================== I have a monthly newsletter for teachers in grades 4-6! Email me at jordynpollard53@gmail.com if you want to join the fun! ======================================================== You can find me also on the YouTube Channel, "At Home with Mrs Joan!" That is my mom's channel all about cooking and home organization! I'm usually her "camerawoman!" ======================================================== I'm still mourning the end of Downton Abbey. Thankfully Downton did give us two movies but I need more of Mary, Carson, and the Countess of Grantham in my life!!!
