Hi. I'm Rebecca Gwynne and while I did not originally major in Education and did not know I wanted to be a teacher until I graduated with my bachelor's degree----teaching is my calling, my passion, and a career I love, value, and respect. No one truly knows the hard work we, as teachers, put in every day. We are in our classrooms — with our students — asking the right questions, presenting the material in an engaging way, and assigning meaningful work that stretches and solidifies the curriculum points we covered that day. It is hard work, and at it's core, our hard work is the future. We are responsible for educating our nation's children so that they grow as students, flourish as individuals, thrive as scholars, and master the knowledge and skills to succeed as adults and responsible citizens of society. I would say my teaching style is a mix of creative, enthusiastic, innovative, and effective.

High Student Growth on the NC EOG Reading Test My students consistently exceed growth expectations on state exams. My department and PLT also saw growth on state exams under my leadership. Created supplemental resources to use with the research-based Word Within the Word vocabulary program. Implemented a school-wide vocabulary program, which spanned all grade levels and content areas. Student scores in Reading saw major growth and their academic vocabulary in various subjects grew. I developed my own supplemental resources to go with the program — some of which I sell on TpT.
