TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 9th year of teaching. I have taught secondary social studies and special education. I have co-taught social studies, as well as started and ran my school history club. I have also coached basketball for 10 years at the high school level. I also teach education classes in curriculum, assessment, and theory to graduate and undergraduate students at Upper Iowa University.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in developing higher ordered thinking skills, as well as aiming to improve student engagement and retention through the use of graphic organizers.

I have a B.A. from the University of Iowa, a B.S. in social science education from Upper Iowa University, and a M. of Ed. from Upper Iowa University. I also have an ASC in Ed LEadership from UNI. I am currently working on my EdD in Ed. Leadership through the University of Northern Iowa.
