I have worked as a Speech Therapist in a public school system since 2006. I worked full time for a Rehab Company in nursing homes before I made the switch to the school setting. I still do PRN work for a local hospital and nursing home, and I just love the variety in the field of Speech Therapy. In the school setting, I have worked with Pre-K children up to 9th grade. I am currently private contracting with school districts in Georgia.
I'm fortunate to work with very small groups of children at a time, so I am able to vary my teaching style based on learning styles. I'm not locked into doing things one way - I believe flexibility is key. If something isn't working, I will switch mid-session to try something else. I also believe in lots and lots of positive reinforcement!
