I am a certified teacher and experienced tutor with 20 years of experience with elementary-aged students. I also homeschool. I began my career as a special education teacher working with students both in the resource room and in a collaborative setting in all subject areas. I have experience working with gifted students, as well as with students with various disabilities, including attention deficit disorder, specific learning disabilities, developmental delays, autism, and emotional and behavior disorders. During this time, I also served as a reading clinician at the University of Kentucky’s Literacy Clinic. Most recently, I served as a reading specialist where I designed and implemented specialized assessment plans and instructional programs in reading, writing, and spelling.
I love working in small groups or one-on-one to provide specially designed instruction or targeted interventions for students with unique needs. I am a homeschool mom.
