TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been an elementary teacher for 27 years and a former family day care owner for 8 years. I have taught all subjects 1st through 6th grades. I am a life long learner and continually work on honing skills and strategies. Utilizing technology in my classroom is an area of passion and one in which I strive to grow each year.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is pretty simple. I teach my students as if they were my very own kids. I am hands on every day. I am very lucky that my district participates in GLAD. I am even luckier to have been in a 1:1 classroom with iPads for each of my 5th graders and Chromebooks for my 6th. Integrating technology into every day learning is important for tomorrow’s leaders in our rooms

I am honored by my staff to be an elected leader for them both locally and within the state. Being recognized as an integrater of technology for my students and staff has been inspirational.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have an Associates, Bachelors, and a Masters. But hands on, in classroom experience is where I really learned to teach.

I have been married to the love of my life for 37 years. We have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. I am still pursuing every dream I have. Life is short, make the most of it, and don't leave coulda shoulda woulda's on the table.
