TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught 7th grade English Language Arts for two years, 8th grade English Language Arts for two years, and currently teach 11th grade American Literature.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My class is student centered and discussion based. I challenge students to think beyond the text to make connections to themselves and the world. A typical class for us may include a short mini-lesson establishing prior knowledge, modeling expectations, and providing turn and talk opportunities. Then, students are given opportunities to explore topics through hands-on activities.
