This is my 21st year teaching math in the same middle school. I have taught 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Although I have not actually taught 9th grade, my district accelerates all, therefore, all 8th graders take Algebra 1. In addition, I have taught general education classes, AIS classes, as well as inclusion classes.
In a normal school year I would prefer to have my students working in ¨learning communities¨, where they get to know and work with all of their peers during the year. I like to do a lot of learning activities in their groups. Unfortunately this year has been unlike any other. I have now turned to digital resources. This has been a challenging year, but I love learning new things and have enjoyed teaching myself how to create fun digital activities.
