I have previously taught Preschool, Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, and Fourth Grade. I am excited for my 14th year in education as an Assistant Principal I currently work at a school implementing the Common Core State Standards and standards based grading.
The primary teacher in me is always looking for cute ways to make intermediate work more engaging for my students. I believe that if an activity is neatly organized and presentable, then the students are more likely to actively engage themselves in the assignment and stay focused. This produces a fun and learning environment and this is the goal of my everyday classroom!
I am proud to announce that I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Middle Childhood Generalist!
I went to Penn State University where I graduated with two degrees in Elementary Education and Communications and Media Studies. Last year, I completed my Masters degree in Urban Leadership at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).
I love to travel! I have been so privileged to travel to over 20 countries with students through a program called People to People. I loved every minute it. The world is an amazing place, especially when you get to see it through the eyes of children. :)
