I just started teaching at a special needs school in summer 2018. I taught in a low-income urban school for 6 years, and prior to that I was a substitute teacher, taught in a private school, taught 3rd/4th grade Sunday School, and co-lead a church youth group. I also worked in higher education, not as a professor, but in marketing, curriculum, assessment, and accreditation. I have certifications and training in online course design/development and instructional technology.
I like to mix things up and do a variety of different things in my classroom. I wouldn't say that I have one particular style - come to my classroom on different days and I will be doing different things in different ways.

I believe that every student deserves a chance and I'm not going to give up on them. Students are more than just test scores - they are children. I love all of my students and try my hardest to keep them actively engaged in instruction and learning. I try to make learning fun by using hands-on activities, games, and songs (well, raps, really, since that's what my students like).
