Miss Jenna Marie

This is my eighth year as a teacher in Maryland. I am a National Board Certified teacher. I started my career as a kindergarten teacher and have moved between kindergarten and second for the past seven years. I taught kindergarten for five and second grade for two years and loved both!

I am not old school! I like growing with the student population and finding their interests and using this to make learning fun. I am interested in pushing towards a new model of education, with more one-on-one differentiation and education that meet students' interests and strengths. My dream is to help the field of education continue to improve and adapt to meet the needs of every student.

I graduated with distinction from Towson University with a Master's Degree in teaching ESOL and Reading Education. My shining teacher moment was when I worked with the Towson Reading Clinic to help students who needed reading intervention at a low cost to their families. I worked with several students and they progressed many reading levels and became more successful at school. It felt amazing to help and get the positive feedback from their families.

I graduated from Towson University and returned to my alma mater to pursue a Master's Degree in Reading Education with a specialty in ESOL. I am certified as a Reading Specialist, ESOL teacher, Early Childhood, and Elementary Education teacher. I have furthered my education in other ways, including: Number Talks Course, Greg Tang Mathematics Conference, SEFEL Course(Social Emotional Foundations for Early Learners) and Daily Five Workshop.
