Before becoming a teacher, Molly did 5 years of research in a laser lab while getting her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in chemistry. This gave her the opportunity to see what real scientists do, something she enjoys sharing with her students. Molly’s favorite topics to teach are those that relate to her research: the electromagnetic spectrum, atomic structure, and intermolecular forces.
Outside of teaching, Molly is a marathon runner and health enthusiast. She loves running with other people (especially her sister and mom), and hopes someday to follow in her father’s footsteps by becoming a cross country and track and field coach. Molly thinks it’s important to constantly find new challenges for herself, so she is currently training for her first ultramarathon. When she isn’t working or running, Molly enjoys spending time with her husband, Buck, who is a real life scientist! Together they enjoy walks, science fiction, good music, good food, good ideas, playing games, and being with friends and family.
