TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm Kristi, a nerd, who designs resources for busy language arts teachers who want to make literature accessible for students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Moore English comes from a love of curriculum design and a passion for deep-dive language arts nerdiness. As a new teacher, I was looking for literary criticism resources, abridged and adapted texts, and standards-aligned assessments. When I didn’t find what I wanted, I stopped scrolling and started creating. Now, I share my decade of experience with you. Want to introduce a complex new text? There’s a resource for that. Want to try a new critical lens? I have a starter pack for that. Want to try a new poetry collection? I have dozens of suggestions!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I spent many years searching for my teaching style. Sometimes my searches were literal travels, but most of the time I searched for myself in literature. Other times, I searched in the classroom. In that quest, I earned Masters degrees in curriculum and instruction and in English literature. As I became more confident in my personal life and in the classroom, I spent more time focusing on self-reflection. During this period, I became a National Board Certified Teacher. It’s not always been an easy journey, but it’s taken me to amazing places, introduced me to incredible role models, and helped me arrive at a kind of unexpected inner piece. Right now, I’m working on my doctorate in K-12 administration. I’m glad my journey led me here, and I’m glad you’re here, too. I can’t wait to walk together into a better future for our students.
