With nearly two decades of extensive experience as an educator in the state of Florida, I have had the honor of imparting knowledge to exceptional students. My professional journey includes a commendable track record, exemplified by consistently surpassing the national average in AP Chemistry Exam results over the past 16 years. Furthermore, I actively contribute to the academic community as an Advanced Placement (AP) reader for the College Board, where I assess and score AP Free Response Questions (FRQs). I initially taught for one year in New York State, where I focused on instructing 7th and 8th-grade math and science. Subsequently, I transitioned to teaching in Florida for 18 years and have taught Physical Science (1 year), Chemistry and Chemistry Honors (17 years), and AP Chemistry (16 years). Prior to my teaching career, I worked as a cancer researcher at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, specializing in leukemia research. Remarkably, I achieved the privilege of being published three times within a span of less than 15 months during my time at the institute.

One of the most frequently asked questions about my Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) page is, "Where did your logo come from?" Interestingly, it originated from a humorous incident during my AP Chemistry class last semester (fall of 2023). In a lighthearted moment, I joked that a stamp of my face would make for an ideal last-minute gift. Little did I anticipate that a student would covertly capture a series of photos of me without my awareness. To my surprise, the student organized a secret class vote to determine which photo would be transformed into my personalized stamp. The chosen image depicted me gazing into the distance. This unexpected gesture by my students has become one of the highlights of my teaching career. I feel fortunate to collaborate with such incredible students every day, and the custom stamp serves as a constant reminder of the wonderful moments we share in the classroom.
