Victoria Miles considers teaching mathematics to be among the greatest joys of her adult life. She is certified to teach 5-9 mathematics and 9-12 mathematics in Massachusetts. Victoria spent 13 years at the middle level, as a seventh grade math teacher and middle school math coach. This is her fourth year teaching at the high school level and her third year as a Mathematics Department Chair.
Ms. Miles enjoys using instructional technology and writing student-centered lessons. She desires to stimulate a a life-long curiosity of mathematics in her students. Ms. Miles strives to help students appreciate the relevance of mathematics in their lives.
Victoria Miles enjoys presenting and participating in mathematics professional development workshops and courses around the state. She is a published author, having written lessons for NCTM Illuminations, and articles for NCTM’s Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School and Mathematics Teacher publications.

Victoria Miles enjoys designing standards-based curriculum. She enthusiastically serves on Massachusetts' MCAS Assessment Development Committee. Victoria enjoys writing assessment problems and tasks to encourage students to show what they know about mathematics. Her favorite math topics are geometry, problem solving, and recreational mathematics. Using discourse to drive instruction is a personal area of interest for Ms. Miles.
