I currently am a Special Ed teacher in a moderate/severe classroom for students who are emotionally disturbed. I teach 3rd, 4th and 5th grade and all of my students need emotional and behavioral support. I have 3 amazing paraprofessionals in my classroom and could not get through the day without them. I previously was an ABA behavior therapist working with children on the Autism spectrum and provided early intervention with children at risk. All of my products I use daily in my classroom and have spent countless hours creating IA schedules, student schedules, arranging DIS schedules and figured I may as well share them with you all!
Having a behavior background, I strive to create a classroom culture that is rooted in positive reinforcement. I am a firm believer in ABA principals and using positive reinforcement to change my student's maladaptive behavior. As a special ed teacher if you don't have strong behavior management, then no learning will be taking place.
Graduate Summa Cum Laude with my Bachelors.
Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. Masters in Special Education and Moderate/Severe Teaching Credential.
